The waterfall line is one of my favourite dives in Sistema Tajma Ha. to get there follow the cavern line until it doubles back on tself in front of the “Danger only cave divers” sign. Jump off the Cavern Line and head left a bit where the waterfall line is easily found after about 30 -40ft. Tie in and head off. You will see an arrow and a jump right into a pit on the first or second shot that lets you know you chose the right line. If you dont see this then chances are you are on the Steve’s Loft line.
The waterfall line is especially interesting because the rock is so incredibly white. A pure white that in places has built up silt mounds reminiscent of Himalayan mountain peaks. After a few minutes the line turns a sharp right where the unmarked jump to the Chinese Garden Line can be found. Continueing on through the very strong haloclyn, the line changes soon from a light twisted to a heavy white unkotted braid, which continues this way all the way to the waterfall.
The waterfall is a spectacular feature of Tajma Ha, something that must exist in other caves but so far I haven’t seen elsewhere, At the end of the line there is a white wall of boulders neatly split by the haloclyn towards the ceiling. Where the haloclyn meets the wall a strong flow of fresh water ‘cascades’ into the haloclyn creating a bizarre waterfall effect. Swirling the salt water like at the bottom of a waterfall pool. Definitely worth the effort to visit and more or less doable on thirds of 2 AL80′s. Take a stage though and take your time.
